Pacers end up with a strange collection
Run as a pacer often enough and the medals stop being a record of your own races. They come from events run deliberately slower than you can, holding a balloon, talking the whole way, finishing to the second.
It is a real category of runner and there is very little made for it. The phrase works equally well for anyone who leads a training group rather than following one.
Pacing medals often come from the same event repeated year after year, so the display ends up with sets rather than singles. Grouped in rows of the same race it reads well.
This medal hanger is produced in the widths below. If you are buying it as a gift, size on the collection they already have rather than on what looks right on the wall.
Size & capacity
| Size | Steel | 1 rail | 2 rails | 3 rails |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 35 x 8 cm | 2.5 mm | 8-12 | 15-22 | 20-30 |
| 45 x 8 cm | 2.5 mm | 13-20 | 24-36 | 34-50 |
| 60 x 11 cm | 3 mm | 21-30 | 38-55 | 55-75 |
| 75 x 11.5 cm | 3 mm | 31-45 | 55-80 | 75-110 |
Not sure which size?
Grouping by event uses more rail than hanging tight. Add a width.
Why stainless steel, not painted sheet metal
The medal hanger is cut from AISI 304 stainless steel (V2A / 1.4301), 2.5-3 mm thick depending on the width. Not painted sheet metal that chips at the first knock.
And it holds a continuous rail, not hooks. Twelve hooks means twelve medals. A rail holds as many as fit.
Putting it up
The standoffs hold it a centimetre off the wall, which is what gives the shadow line. Template, screws and plugs are included; you need a drill and ten minutes.
Once there is no space left
The proportions are drawn so that two units stacked or lined up look like one piece of furniture rather than an afterthought. The widest version holds up to 110 medals across three rails.
Delivery
Every medal display is cut and finished in our own workshop and dispatched within 3–5 working days. Returns accepted for fourteen days.
