The second Majors cut, for a finished set

The first version is drawn for a quest in progress. This one reads better once all six are on it — the layout is tighter, so a complete set fills the steel rather than sitting in it.

Runners who have the sixth star tend to want the display to look finished, and that is a design question rather than a materials one. Same AISI 304 steel, same continuous rail, same mounting kit. Different arrangement.

The Majors medals are among the heaviest in road running, particularly Berlin and New York. On a display holding only these six, the weight is concentrated rather than spread.

This medal holder comes in the widths listed here. For a gift, err wide — nobody has ever complained about too much room.

If this is holding only the six stars, 35 or 45 cm is plenty. Go wider only if other marathons are joining them.

The steel, and why it matters

Every medal display in the range is AISI 304 — the same grade used for kitchen surfaces and marine fittings — at 2.5-3 mm depending on width. It doesn't rust, doesn't chip, and doesn't need looking after.

The bar is continuous. That's the whole difference from a hook rack: hooks give you a fixed count, a rail gives you a length.

Fitting it to the wall

Comes with stainless standoffs, fixings and a paper drilling template. On plasterboard use proper anchors rather than the plugs supplied — a full display is heavier than it looks.

When it fills up

A second unit mounts flush against the first, so the wall still reads as one piece rather than two things hung near each other. The widest version holds up to 110 medals across three rails.

Every medal display is cut and finished in our own workshop and dispatched within 3–5 working days. Returns accepted for fourteen days.
