Six cities, and usually about a decade
Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, New York. Almost nobody collects them quickly — there are ballots, qualifying times, flights and years between them. The gap between the first star and the sixth is often longer than a marriage.
Which is the argument for hanging them somewhere permanent rather than keeping them in the box each one arrived in. This medal display is cut from a single sheet of stainless steel with the six cities named across it, so the empty spaces mean something while the quest is still running.
Runners part-way through the six often buy this precisely because the gaps are visible. It is a commitment device as much as a display, which is not something we would normally claim about a piece of steel.
The same medal display is cut in several widths. Buying as a gift? Count what is already in the drawer and go one size up.

Not sure which size?
Six medals need very little rail. Buy this size for the Majors themselves and a second, wider unit for everything else.
Why stainless steel, not painted sheet metal
The medal hanger is cut from AISI 304 stainless steel (V2A / 1.4301), 2.5-3 mm thick depending on the width. Not painted sheet metal that chips at the first knock.
And it holds a continuous rail, not hooks. Twelve hooks means twelve medals. A rail holds as many as fit.
Putting it up
The standoffs hold it a centimetre off the wall, which is what gives the shadow line. Template, screws and plugs are included; you need a drill and ten minutes.
After the first one is full
They're made to pair. A second unit sits flush against the first and the run reads as a single display. The widest version holds up to 110 medals across three rails.
Shipping & returns
This medal hanger is made in the EU in our own workshop and dispatched in 3–5 working days. Fourteen days to return it.
