Three sports, one medal, and a lot of kit already

Triathletes have a storage problem before the medals even arrive. Two bikes, a wetsuit, four pairs of shoes and a turbo trainer already occupy the spare room, and the medals end up hanging off the handlebars of whichever bike is not being used.

This is the version that includes the 35 cm size, so a first-season athlete can start small. It is also the one people buy for someone who has just signed up rather than someone who has finished.

If the medals are going up in a garage or a room with a turbo trainer in it, note that stainless steel is unaffected by the humidity that comes with either.

The 35 cm size suits a first or second season. Anyone past that should skip it.

Why stainless steel, not painted sheet metal

The medal hanger is cut from AISI 304 stainless steel (V2A / 1.4301), 2.5-3 mm thick depending on the width. Not painted sheet metal that chips at the first knock.

And it holds a continuous rail, not hooks. Twelve hooks means twelve medals. A rail holds as many as fit.

Putting it up

The standoffs hold it a centimetre off the wall, which is what gives the shadow line. Template, screws and plugs are included; you need a drill and ten minutes.

After the first one is full

They're made to pair. A second unit sits flush against the first and the run reads as a single display. The widest version holds up to 110 medals across three rails.
